The Pearl 2013
Tony revealed an unexpected talent for a proud person from Lincolnshire - he plays the Northumbrian smallpipes
A very close replica of the original milepost which stood here beside Stenson Lock. Only the "T&MCS 1977" plate half way up gives the game away.
The penant flying from the tiller is the traditional (since way back in 2005!)
flag of Lincolnshire, Tony's home county

Yew Maze from the air
Satellite view of the Yew Maze on the Parterre. This maze is modern. A notice outside gives its planting date - 1980s as I recall.
The light coloured patch in the middle is the rectangular structure seen in the next picture. It looks triangular because of heavy shadow.
The website claims "its intriguing layout is based on an isocahedron [sic] pattern of interlocking-triangular shapes".

Looking out from the heart of the maze
Looking towards the manor house while standing on the structure in the previous photo.

The heart of the maze
This structure at the centre of the Yew Maze looks much older than the planting of the maze. Possibly a capped-off well head.
(174T37)
The Turf Maze in the Kitchen Garden
The manor's website calls it a "penitential maze". Prosaic, as always,
Wikipedia tells us that it is an unusual design based on a painting of 1573. Built by Denys Tweddell in 1983.
