Our son George was working as a volunteer at the Buddhist
Centre for World Peace and Health on Holy Isle which is a small island off Arran, a larger island in the Firth of Clyde. We went to visit him there.

The white gable-end about a third of the way in from the left is 66 Sedbergh Road, Kendal and in it is the window of the bedroom that Roger had as a child. I remember watching heavy goods trains hauled by two steam locomotives with a third, "banking engine" pushing at the rear. The banking engine would then come back light to Oxenholme where it was stationed.
This was taken on the return journey. I thought I might have better luck because the train was slowing (a bit) to stop at Oxenholme. I think I have managed to get No. 66 exactly behind the tree on the left.
These two were taken on a later visit to Kendal by road

MV Caledonian Isles is one of the largest vessels in the Caledonian MacBrayne fleet. Confusingly they also have
MV Isle of Arran but that operates the Kennacraig to Islay route.
