When we had visited Tenerife many years before, I recall that we tried to go up the Teleférico del Teide but were not able to do so - it was closed due to bad weather I think. We tried again on this visit, got this far and found carretera cortada por desprendimientos. The teleférico may well have been running but to get to it from this point by an alternative route was probably 100 km.
